HERBIGNAC, Open door to Brittany
Between Brière and sea, Herbignac has been able to highlight its heritage and its traditions. Important center of Breton pottery since Gallo-Roman times, the city revives its history on which watch a castle, witness inescapable history of Brittany.
In the shade of ancient oaks, the remains of the castle of Ranrouët reveal their imposing silhouette. Located in a unique and unusual, this sentinel marsh, built from the 13th century, still raises many vocations of young knights.
In the heart of the village, we find the spirit of old houses with the house of tourism and heritage, which, although dated to the 17th century, would probably go back to the Middle Ages. Today, it hosts, among other things, summer events and exhibitions evoking the life and history of the peasant potters of Herbignac.
